FAQ
What is a
Business Music Service Provider?
A Business Music Service (BMS) provider
supplies businesses with licensed content for background and
foreground music. They also typically have music experts that
program the content into playlists to serve specific market demands.
Does my business need a BMS?
There are many reasons for engaging a BMS. Compliance with
with copyright law, the quality of professionally programmed music,
the convenience of new technologies, and operating cost are all
factors driving the demand for a high quality BMS.
Is it possible for my business to comply
with U.S. Copyright Law without a BMS? Yes. Businesses
may license what's called the "performance right" directly from
Performing Rights Organizations such as BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC. Many
business find this process difficult to manage. They have to
purchase and maintain a music library, determine which organization
collects royalties, and pay that organization. They're also taking
on the role of "music programmer." Copying music
also raises the issues of "Mechanical Rights" and "Master Rights."
How do I install
your player? No tools are required. Just
connect the included RCA cable to your amplifier, and the Ethernet
cable to your router or network hub. Then power it up and you're all
set.
Your MP3 Audio Player has two "zones," what
exactly does that mean? It means you have several
options to customize our service to meet your specific needs. The
player is capable of creating two completely distinct audio zones -
with music and/or messages on each zone. A typical application is to
use the first zone for background music with promotional messages
playing every 15 or 20 minutes and the second zone for a message
"loop" for telephone on-hold customers.
Can my
employees change the music while I'm gone? It's up to
you. We can provide a player where there is no way to change the
music on the player. Music would then only be changed using a secure
web site, so only those to whom you give your ID/Password can make
updates. If you need the flexibility to make changes right on the
player, we can provide that capability as well.
Do I
need an audio system? Yes. Our players provide music content that
plugs into your amplifier using a standard RCA connection.
Can I use a "home stereo"? Yes. The output from
our player is in mono format. Just let us know you're using stereo
when you order and we'll include a free signal-splitter, to provide
content for both stereo channels.
Do you install
audio systems? Like all Business Music Providers, we
use a network of Independent Audio Installers across the United
States to help you with audio system installation.
Can you handle larger system roll-outs? Yes. For larger
roll-outs involving locations in more than one city, our
Installation Coordinator will work closely with you to ensure you
get precisely what you need to accomplish your project objectives.
He will help spec out your system based on your floor plans and
budget. We can handle installation or ship the system to your
contractor with instructions. Our goal is to accommodate your audio
system installation project needs.
Is an Agreement
required? Yes. A three month subscription to our
Business Music Service is required. We believe this is the shortest
agreement term in the industry. Your complete satisfaction is our
goal.
Is there a warranty on the player?
Yes. The player comes with a one-year limited warranty.
Afterwards, repair/replacement is the customer's financial responsibility. Our
repair rates are reasonable. We want to keep your business!
